Family, Community & Non-Profit Non-Profit Organizations
Aurora leads an integrated response to sexual violence and child abuse across Southwestern Alberta. Through prevention, education, advocacy, therapy, and coordinated support, we help individuals, families, and communities become better than before.
We provide accessible, client-led, trauma-informed, and evidence-informed services to people of all ages, identities, and backgrounds. Recognizing that healing is not linear and that every person’s experience is unique, Aurora offers a continuum of care that promotes safety, connection, choice, and renewed agency. Our role is to walk alongside clients as they identify their own goals, navigate systems, and move forward in ways that are meaningful to them.
Aurora’s integrated services include:
As the governing agency for the Aurora Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (ACYAC), Aurora also leads a coordinated, multidisciplinary response to child abuse in Southwestern Alberta. The ACYAC brings together child protection, law enforcement, health, justice, and social-service professionals to reduce fragmentation, minimize repeated disclosures, and create a more cohesive, child-centred experience for children, youth, and their families.
Guided by compassion, courage, hope, and excellence, Aurora works with partners to strengthen the systems surrounding people affected by abuse. We believe that meaningful healing extends beyond immediate crisis response: it builds safer relationships, stronger families, more responsive institutions, and a resilient community rising together with dignity and courage. This reflects Aurora’s commitment to coordinated care, evidence-first practice, collaboration, and building agency among clients, partners, and communities.
